Ronnie’s Story

“Ronnie” graduated from Central Virginia Community College’s College for Living several years ago. He is autistic and does not adapt to change. His mother, Joyce, worried he might not be able to transition to another setting. Ronnie also has various medical issues that must be monitored on a regular basis.

The experienced staff at The Arc was able to provide a level of care that allowed Ronnie to feel comfortable and safe in his new environment.

Ronnie enjoys working on the classroom computer, learning new skills, and participating in the modified exercise class. He always beams when he sees his instructor, Cheryl Smith in the morning.

Ronnie enjoys the socialization and all the friends he has made. The Arc has a full time nurse on site to monitor Ronnie’s medical needs. His mother, Joyce, is very pleased with the services The Arc has been able to provide for her son.
